Production and Price Indices
Manufacturing Production and Price Indices:
Central Bureau of Statistics has been compiling   Manufacturing Production Index (MPI) and Manufacturing Producers’ Price Index (MPPI) for more than a decade, with a view to measure the changes taken place at quarterly and yearly basis. In this issue the Annual Manufacturing production Index (AMPI) for the F.Y 2065/66, Quarterly Manufacturing Production Index (QMPI) and Quarterly Manufacturing Producers’ Price  Index (QMPPI) for FY 2066/67 are presented..  Indexes of fourth quarter for the F.Y2065/66 has been finalized and   index of the  first quarter for the F.Y2066/67 is preliminary   by nature that will the revised in the next quarter.

Annual Manufacturing Production Index:  
The Annual manufacturing production index (AMPI), a major indicator of the country's industrial output is expected to have increased by  0.13 percent  over the last  FY 2065/66 as compared to the same period of the previous FY 2064/65. The manufacturing of wearing apparel,  the manufacture of  casting of metal ,and the manufacture of other textile have    declined by 12.05%,10.04% and 9.85% during the F.Y2065/66.The  manufacture of plastic product, the manufacture of grain mill product and the manufacture of beverage have increased by10.69%,8.09%  and 7.75% during the fiscal year 2065/66.  At commodity   level soft drink ,noodles, beer, rice and animal feed   are registered to have increased by about 17.56 %, 10.27 %,  9.85 % 8.37% and   8.33 %   respectively. However, the production of the Readymade  garment, Woolen carpet ,vegetable ghee, and jute goods  have been estimated to have downfall of about 12.05%, 11.73% and 10.26 % and 7.10%  respectively during the comparison period.

Quarterly Manufacturing Production Index :

The overall index of the Manufacturing Production  for the  fourth quarter of 2065/66 has been revised as 100.13% and  the over all index of the first quarter for the F.Y 2066/67 is estimated as 100.07.  It means the quarterly change in the production of fourth quarter has increased by 0.13 % in   comparison to the corresponding quarter of the  F.Y 2064/65 and the first quarter for the F.Y 066/67 has increased by 0.7 % in comparison to the corresponding quarter of the F.Y 2065/66.   The manufacture of iron rod, the manufacture of beverage  and the manufacture of saw mill have increased by 16.44 %, 11.35%and  8.33 % respectively in comparison to the first quarter 2065/66..

Quarterly Manufacturing Producers’ Price Index (QMPPI):

 The overall QMPPI for the first quarter of the FY 2066/67 is recorded 107.92 showing a growth of 7.92 percent comparing the corresponding quarter of the previous F.Y 2065/66.  The  producers' price of the manufacture of  other food products,  the manufacture of non metallic mineral product, ,the manufacture of printing and reproducing product, the manufacture of grain mill product and the manufacture of tanning and dressing of leather product have been estimated to have increased by about  27.88%, 26.95, 25.00 %, 21.39%  and 19.74% respectively  in comparison to the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year 2065/66. However, the price of industry group like other fabricated metal product and vegetable oil and fats have been estimated to have decreased by .18.44 and 7.76% respectively with in the comparison period.
Quarterly Input Price Index of Construction Sector (QIPICS)

For first quarter of the F.Y. 2009/10

Present Status :
The overall Quarterly Input Price Index of Construction Sector for the first quarter of the F.Y. 2009/10 compared to the first quarter of the previous fiscal year has increased by 10.17 percent. The item-wise i.e. Bricks have heavy positive increment by 40.78 percent during the same period. Likewise labour, wood sawn and cement also have positive increment by 24.30, 22.07 and 20.47 percent respectively during the same period. But iron rod & billets has decreased by 25.90 percent during the same period.

Annual Input Price Index of Construction Sector (AIPICS)
For the F. Y. 2008/09
The overall Input Price Index of Construction Sector (IPICS) for the F.Y. 2008/09 as compared to F.Y. 2007/08 has increased by 114.27 percent. Item wise, bricks has marked positive increment by 25.81percent. Likewise, iron rods & billets, labor wage, cement and woods sawn also have positive increment by 15.33, 16.37, 12.52 and 4.73 percents respectively during the same period.
