Welcome to the online catalogue of surveys of the Central Bureau of Statistics. This is an initiative to establish a web-base National Data Archive in Nepal. It is developed to store and retrieve statistical data of various surveys and censuses conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics. It systematically preserves microdata of surveys and censuses including records on their metadata. A long run plan has envisioned documenting all past and future surveys and censuses conducted by CBS. But, at this stage twelve surveys and censuses with microdata are documented following the tools and guidelines for better data documentation and dissemination developed by International Household Survey Network (IHSN).The repository system was developed in collaboration with the Accelerated Data Program (www.ihsn.org/adp) implemented jointly by the PARIS21 Secretariat hosted by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the world Bank. The aim of the ADP is to make rapid improvements in the quality and availability of household survey dta in developing countries.

A Microdata Management Toolkit programme is used to document the datasets and they are disseminated through the National Data Archive (NADA). It is hoped that the NADA provides an equitable access to microdata for all interested users and promotes the effective use of existing survey and census data for research and statistical purposes.
